The Mysterious Universe James Hopwood Jeans |

(Wikipedia 20110906) http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teor%C3%ADa_hebbiana ******************

of study investigates the various physical devices which actually exhibit

http://www.impa.br/˜lvelho. Abstract. The definition
of a good view of a 3D scene is highly subjective and strongly depends on
both the scene content and the 3D application. Usually, camera
placement is performed directly by the user, and that task may be laborious. Existing automatic virtual cameras guide
the user by optimizing a single rule, e.g. maximizing the visible silhouette or the projected area. However, the
use of a static pre-defined rule may fail in respecting the user’s subjective understanding of the scene. This work
introduces intelligent design galleries, a learning approach for subjective problems such as the camera placement.
The interaction of the user with a design gallery teaches a statistical learning machine.
The trained machine can then imitate the user, either by pre-selecting good
views or by automatically placing the
camera. The learning process relies on a Support Vector Machines for
classifying views from a collection of descriptors, ranging from 2D
image quality to 3D features visibility. Experiments of the automatic camera placement demonstrate that the
proposed technique is efficient and handles scenes with occlusion and high depth complexities. This work also
includes user validations of the intelligent gallery interface. ************************************************************************* ************************************************************************* Introduction

and Bob Williamson Abstract We present a novel
clustering method using the approach of support vector machines. Data points are mapped by
means of a Gaussian kernel to a high dimensional feature space, where we search for the
minimal enclosing sphere. This sphere, when mapped back to data space, can separate into
several components, each enclosing a separate cluster of points. We present a simple
algorithm for identifying these clusters. The width of the Gaussian kernel controls the scale at
which the data is probed while the soft margin constant helps coping with outliers and
overlapping clusters. The structure of a dataset is explored by varying the two parameters,
maintaining a minimal number of support vectors to assure smooth cluster boundaries. We
demonstrate the performance of our algorithm on several datasets. Keywords: Clustering, Support Vectors Machines, Gaussian Kernel http://jmlr.csail.mit.edu/papers/volume2/horn01a/rev1/horn01ar1.pdf __________________________________________________________________________________ RECONOCIMIENTO DE

sometimes computational learning theory, the VC
dimension (for Vapnik–Chervonenkis dimension) is a measure of the capacity of a
statistical classification algorithm,
defined as the cardinality of the largest set of points that the
algorithm can shatter. It is a core concept in Vapnik–Chervonenkis theory, and was originally defined by Vladimir
Vapnik and Alexey Chervonenkis. Informally, the
capacity of a classification model is related to how complicated it can be.
For example, consider the thresholding of a high-degree polynomial:
if the polynomial evaluates above zero, that point is classified as positive,
otherwise as negative. A high-degree polynomial can be wiggly, so it can fit
a given set of training points well. But one can expect that the classifier
will make errors on other points, because it is too wiggly. Such a polynomial
has a high capacity. A much simpler alternative is to threshold a linear
function. This polynomial may not fit the training set well, because it has a
low capacity. We make this notion of capacity more rigorous below.” (Wikipedia January 2, 2010) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VC_dimension Dimensión VC “La dimensión VC (del inglés Vapnik-Chervonenkis dimension) es una medida de la capacidad de los algoritmos de clasificación estadística, definida como la cardinalidad del mayor conjunto de puntos que el algoritmo puede separar. the margin, two parallel hyperplanes are constructed, one on

hyperplane that has the largest distance to the neighboring datapoints of both classes, since in general the larger
the margin the lower the generalization error of the classifier.”

The support-vector network is a new leaming machine
for two-group classification problems. The machine
conceptually implements the following idea: input vectors are non-linearly
mapped to a very highdimension feature
space. In this feature space a linear decision surface is constructed.
Special properties of the decision
surface ensures high generalization ability of the learning machine. The idea
behind the support-vector network
was previously implemented for the restricted case where the training data
can be separated without errors.
We here extend this result to non-separable training data. High
generalization ability of support-vector networks utilizing polynomial input
transformations is demonstrated. We also
compare the performance of the support-vector network to various classical
learning algorithms that all
took part in a benchmark study of Optical Character Recognition. Keywords:

applications are used to manipulate complex models Model Based Computing by Michael Feldman, HPCwire Editor, HPCwire, March 16, 2007 “For the past
year or so, Intel has been talking up RMS, an application software model for terascale computing. RMS, which stands for Recognition,
Mining and Synthesis, is the class of software that Intel believes will
represent the killer apps of the not-too-distant future -- 2010 and beyond.
These applications will require the capabilities of terascale
processors -- teraflop performance processing terabytes of data. RMS applications
are used to manipulate complex models, which can be either objects or events.
The three components of RMS describe its function. Recognition involves
defining the model; mining has to do with sifting through datasets for
instances of that model; and synthesis performs "what-if" types of
calculations on the model to yield predictions or solutions.” http://www.hpcwire.com/hpc/1321157.html ***************************************************************** OCR and Neural

He is the author of several papers on philosophy, epistemology and artificial intelligence. He held the Chair in Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Science at the School of Computer Science at the University of Birmingham, and before that a chair with the same title at the University of Sussex. He is now working with biologist Jackie Chappell on the evolution of intelligence.” Aaron Slogan Desentrañando la complejidad http://www.dialogica.com.ar/unr/epicom/2003/07/desentranando_la_complejidad.html ***************************************************************** ART; A Computer That Has An Eye for Van Gogh By Douglas Heingartner, Published: June 13, 2004 “Now a team of
researchers at the University of Maastricht, here in the Netherlands, are
taking a stab at rationalizing connoisseurship, a word that in its
art-historical context refers to the formal process of determining who
created a work of art. They have developed a computer system that quickly
examines hundreds of paintings for telltale patterns. The results, they say,
can lend credence to existing attributions or help dismiss them.” http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=980DE4DB1630F930A25755C0A9629C8B63 *********************************************************** Aaron, el pintor artificial Domingo, 11 de noviembre de 2001 http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/spanish/science/newsid_1650000/1650334.stm http://www.kurzweilcyberart.com/index.html Raymond
